Dogs & Dog Listening
Dogs were domesticated thousands of years ago from their wolf ancestors making wonderful loyal companions, a trait which humans have appreciated. With selective breeding over the generations we now have hundreds of physically different breeds. Although breeds can vary in size and shape enormously from Great Danes to Chihuahuas, they all behave the same way and think as wolves.
Wolves and dogs are pack animals. They need to be part of a group. They feel safer in numbers. The domestic dog's pack is made up of humans and dogs.
Living in an Alien Environment
The human environment consists of man made materials, machines and expectations. Dogs in the domestic setting are in a world they don't understand. They try to interpret our world as they would in the wild.
For example, when a dog barks on the television. Your dog bolts up barks and then frantically searches for the intruder behind the television! We laugh at this and find it amusing but the dog cannot understand it and reacts the only way it knows. Another example is when a doorbell rings on T.V and your dog runs to the door. Dogs cannot understand our world as we can, but good owners can understand the dogs and show them how to behave in various situations.
Every dog has its own personality some dogs are boisterous and playful, others more tentative. Dogs learn acceptable behaviour from their pack sometimes with startling results look.

Amichien Bonding©
Jan Fennell the "Dog Listener" and international author developed her method after spending years studying the behaviour of the canines in the wild. Extensive study of wolves, dingoes, wild dogs etc, helped Jan to comprehend canine behaviour with the help of her own dogs.
Jan created the procedure now known as 'Amichien Bonding©'. It also lead to her first international best selling book titled "The Dog Listener". Jan's dedication to the species allowed her to train other open-minded people who shared her passion for a more natural approach to training dogs. Worldwide Jan has "Dog Listeners" who have used the method successfully with all types of dogs.
Paws and Think Dog Listeners are available to explain and demonstrate the canine language your dog understands.
The method is very easy to learn and every dog owner can teach themselves using Jan's books or DVD. Alternatively if you wish a personal home consultation please contact us and we will arrange a suitable time and date to visit you.
